Homi J. Bhabha (30 October 1909 – 24 January 1966) was a pioneering physicist who laid the foundation for India's nuclear science and atomic energy programme. He founded the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR) and played a key role in establishing the Atomic Energy Establishment, Trombay (later renamed the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre). His vision helped India become a leader in nuclear research and peaceful applications of atomic energy.
